AVORA Project

UNDERWATER ROBOTICS - AUV

AVORA Project, Underwater Autonomous Vehicle.

Since 2006, SAUC-E is created as a project to motivate a generation of engineers who design and build autonomous underwater vehicles being able to perform different tasks under realistic conditions. From 2010 SAUC-E has been held in La Spezia, at CMRE, former NURC. The ULPGC and PLOCAN have collaborated in this project. The AVORA team has competed in 2012 and 2013 editions, with teams from Germany, France and the UK among others, and in 2015 in euRathlon, the 1st competition for multidomain robots (air, land and sea) collaborating in order to solve Fukushima inspired scenarios.

SSM partners participated in the first editions gaining international recognition; currently we sponsor the team with a working space, materials, recruiting students and supporting them with our know-how.

We continue to push and support the new teams from the Canaries that have attended the different marine robotics competition, such as ROBOTUIC and Black Display Robotics.
