MAGNETO has been selected within the 2nd call of the IDEAS in the Ports of Spain Tradetech fund, Ports4.0. 

The main objective of the project is to study the feasibility of Magneto, a climbing robot with tracks or magnetic wheels that is capable of moving along the surface of a ship's hull. This robot will be equipped with ultrasonic metal thickness NDT sensors to take measurements on the hull. The robot will have other sensors to facilitate navigation and digitization of the inspection, such as multiple cameras, inertial measurement unit, GPS (or other means of location), sensors for odometry.
